10 days 'til tax day: rubber bands

Rubber bands are one of those things that you don’t think you need until you want one. Have you noticed? We use them all the time, like to close up bags of veggies in the fridge, transporting bunches of flowers, making the cat scurry across the room. These Elastini Rubber Bands from the Container Store aren’t just fun because they sport witty phrases (“Expand your mind” and “Be Flexible”), they also come in a classicly designed Italian tin nice enough for reusing. Twenty bands for $3.49. P.S. We heard that rubber bands last longer if you keep in the fridge, but aren’t quite sure why it matters.

I bet rubber bands ostensibly last longer if you keep them in the fridge because of relative levels of humidity. Probably not an issue if you live in the southeastern US, but good to know if you live in the desert somewhere.
