blogwatch: domino gets into the action

Have you noticed that Domino has started a few blogs? Full-disclosure, I have some close connections there and know that blogging has been on their to-do list for some time. Leading the way is contributor Thaddeus Kromelis, who is bravely sharing his kitchen renovation, see photo above. The household improvements are real and his hyperlinks are inspired. Also enjoyable at Domino is the Scrappy-girl Decorates by Catherine Halley. It’s so refreshing to see some homes that aren’t picture-perfect or owned by models whose mothers are famous decorators/artists/designers. Speaking of real-life apartments, everyone should take a peek at My First Apartment (thanks Holly at Decor8). It’s a great blog/resource for college students moving into their first post-grad pads. But there’s plenty of useful info there for all of us. — Angela M.

Another great “post-grad pad” site is digsmagazine.com. They also just published a book with a lot of the site’s material in it, called “First Digs.” (I’m actually going to do a post on a few of these books on my craft book review site, but I haven’t gotten around to it. I can safely recommend “First Digs”, though there are some books that have more DIY projects or are more visual.)

But the ones you’ve listed are also definitely ones to watch! Thanks! :)

Oooh, I was JUST about to suggest digs as well! It’s a really great site (and was incredibly helpful when I moved out.)
