how to make cooking cool for kids

We noticed that William-Sonoma has some fantastic things for kids this year, like pizza party invitations and a bat smores kit. But who could resist a dinosaur-camoflage vintage print apron ($34)? We wish it came in grown-up sizes to inspire the guys around our houses to roll up their sleeves and join us in the kitchen more often. It’s machine washable, and has three pockets. Even if your little guy (there’s cute ones for girls, too!) isn’t a budding Bobby Flay, this apron will also come in handy when he’s discovering his inner-Pollack in art class.

The apron is cute but a bit spendy. For only $9 you could get one of these cook retro-ish aprons.

Ahem. Or it could come in handy when SHE’s discovering HER inner Pollack! There’s absolutely no reason why this is a “boy’s” apron! If your little girl loves dinosaurs and cooking, why not combine the two?

My daughter likes cooking in this kid-size marimekko apron.
