I have the west elm bamboo sheets in sky blue and the washed linen duvet in the same color. The sheets are actually 70 something percent bamboo fiber. Who Knew? They have a great feel, and get softer after each wash. The color is like a slice of clear blue sky. It seems they cut their sheets and quilts a little longer and wider to allow for tucking which is how they display their bedding throughout the store. The extra fabric means no more fighting over the sheets or covers...there's plenty for 2. :) The linen duvet is perfectly cut and feels luxurious to the touch. I have yet to purchase the sky blue squares quilt, which is plain, no pattern. It seems very soft and somfy to the touch. west elm does an astonishingly good job of matching the sky blue (and other colors) from product to product and not just bedding but in furniture and other accessories.

I was in the Chelsea West Elm a couple of days ago and saw the Kenya duvet cover... it is really cool and looks very well-made and high-quality. A lot of W.Elm's bedding and pillows has a cheap look and feel... like the pattern was spraypainted on (maybe it was?)
Have a look

I have the Wildflower Duvet cover from West Elm, and it's very soft and comfortable. It was also $100, and I think worth every penny.

Hi- I'd love to know if anyone's tried Garnet Hill's new bedding from Eileen Fisher... it's really well priced and very sophisticated. I imagine a step up from West Elm. Anyone? I might go ahead and order tonight, if I do... I'll let you know.

Love the blog!

My primary bed cover is a lightweight quilt from West Elm, bought last winter season. It's velveteen and solid-colored in "glacier" ( a cool blue). I love it, it carried me through summer as my only blanket for sleeping because it's so lightweight. Then in colder months, I throw a feather duvet over it. It's held up quite well. I was worried about cat hair adhering to the velvet-like surface, but I just use a lint roller for that and spot clean if I get anything on it.
