wanna feel good about ironing? buy this one now!

I’ve had the same iron since I was in college, and while I don’t use it enough to really be concerned about its functionality, I know a new one would make the job easier. I spotted this beauty by Rowenta in a couple of magazines this month, and decided to take the plunge. In addition to sporting 400 mircosteam holes and an electronic temperature control, it’s also a lovely shade of pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. 100% of the profits will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. $80 at amazon.com. — Angela M.
P.S. Check back throughout October, when we’ll be highlighting nifty home products that honor Breast Cancer Awareness month.

I know this is just a decorating blog, but for the low-down on why the Breast Cancer Awareness Industry is extremely lame, check out this post by Twisty Faster, a brilliant woman and breast cancer survivor.

Just to be clear, I’m not trying to balme you … but I felt I should point it out . Just as you pointed out the badness of adhesive floor tile.
It’s amazing how much better a good iron is. I had a $10 iron from college, and my mom upgraded me to a Rowenta a few years ago for my birthday, and it’s so much easier to iron now! And I hate having to iron in hotel rooms with their cheap irons.
My Rowenta (circa 2000) isn’t pink, but I do love it. :)
(Locks of Love is another deceptive charity – lots and lots of info online about why it’s not worth cutting your hair off to donate to them.)
