blogwatch: blogs with shops

Yesterday while clicking through “currents” in The New York Times home design section (does anyone read newspapers anymore?), I was tickled to see these lovely votive holders by Amy Adams of Perch Design (above right). But I was even more tickled (giddy?) when I realized they were for sale at design*sponge’s brand new store. Just launched a week ago, it features six limited-edition designs, each one is less than $100, and a portion of the proceeds benefit the Humane Society of the US. Also, be sure to look at the salt pepper and olive oil set, above left, by Karin Eriksson. Grace, who is the brain, voice and eye of design*sponge always highlights the best independent designers, and I can’t wait to see what she curates there from month to month. That reminded me of another blog-and-store that I love, Pamela Barskey. Go see her latest offerings, which include cheeky luggage tags and a piggy bank surprise. The other blog-shop that I must remind you (and me!) to visit often Hillary Lang’s at Wee Wonderfuls. She’s starting selling notecards and stickers which are just as charming as her craft creations. Way to go bloggin’ ladies! — Angela M.

Thanks so much for the shout out guys. Hope you enjoy the shop- the designers get 100% of the profits so I’m so thrilled it’s going well so far.

Doh. Good catch Jennie. Lesson: No more blogging pre-coffee.
