I would think that you'd want all the edges to be flush on the same level, rather than receding into the floor a bit. It just seems dirt would have a tendency to gather on the edges of tiles. Vinyl tile is pretty cheap in comparison to this; the gridliner/reusability factor seems to be the main difference. I don't know if it's worth paying for... areas getting tiled usually have different concerns than areas getting carpeted (those concerns are ease of cleaning, and water repellence). I like the colors and patterns on the website, but it was a little vague. I wonder what material the "grid liner " is made from and if it's waterproof? I also wonder if it is as easy to cut as FLOR tiles are. We used FLOR in our AIRSTREAM, and even with the curves, it was a cinch to make all the cuts.
