Allison R. and I just got back from an amazing adventure in Costa Rica. We stayed at Casa Corcovado, an eco jungle lodge outside of Corcovado National Park. We spent many hours each day hiking, riding, swimming and soaking in the amazingly diverse nature that surrounds the place. But we both agree that the most special thing we did was visiting the home of a gentle farmer named Socrates and his family. We had lunch there after (and before) a three-hour horseback journey through treacherous and slippery trails. Our bodies may have been sore and bruised, but our spirits were flying high. Above, a peek inside their amazingly practical, clean and cozy home. In the corner, the solar powered generator that gives the house its energy supply. Below, a comfy lounge chair, carved from a single piece of wood. — Angela M.
