Thanks to those who entered our Unique Holiday Tschotke Contest! The winner is Megan from Cincinnati, OH’s and her innovative Christmas stick. Here’s how she describes it: “It’s a branch I found in the back yard and wrapped in wool yarn. It’s a great way to display ornaments without having to lug a heavy tree into the house.”

(Behind it, you may be intrigued, as we were, by those cute cat paintings on the wall. “That’s my collection of vintage Paint-by-Numbers, ” explains Megan. “I find them on eBay all the time. I only collect that one cat from 1969. I think I’m up to 10.”)

Congratulations Megan! Your copy of Judith Miller’s Decorative Arts is on its way. Stay tuned for the next Shelterrific giveaway — coming up tomorrow!

Yes, there was a similar stick in Domino in a larger room shot. I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off, but I’m very happy with how it turned out.

I’ve only lived in my house for a little over a year and I’m still working on decorating and fixing it up. Thanks for the complement Mary!

congrataulations megan!
