notes from the nursery: pom-pom fringe

When I was designing the nursery, I wanted all the bells and whistles without the budget crunch. Once you factor in a crib, bedding, a breast pump, the bank account can’t help but groan. It’s amazing to me that the decorative item I secretly have the most affection for is a snippet of apple green pom-pom fringe from JoAnn fabrics. I used it to make simple curtain ties (steps: snip, tie) and picture “wire” (steps: snip, measure, nail into the back of a picture frame) and it was only $5. That’s a nice fringe benefit, no? —Megan K.

Very cute, and love that color.

I love pom pom fringe. It’s so hard to find though. (I have a secret source though – an old fabric store that somehow keeps on going that has at least 20 different kinds of ball fringe.)

My daughter’s curtains are blue bug print with blue ball fringe. (sadly, her pet rats have eaten almost all the ball fringe off of one curtain.)

At first read I thought this said “porn fringe.” God, what’s wrong with me?
