Travel and Leisure announced their 2007 Design Awards which cover things as wide ranging as luggage (a YSL) bag and resorts (W Maldives). Their choice for the best designed large hotel is one that we’ve been dreaming about visiting since it opened a couple of years ago — The G hotel in Galway, Ireland. Designed by Douglas Wallace with some added flair by renowned hat designer Philip Treacy. Each room has Treacy touches, including custom-designed lighting, pillows and Frette sheets. We’re not going to Ireland anytime soon, but that won’t stop us from fantasizing about snuggling down in one of these rooms. Join in by visiting the G Hotel’s site.
