blogwatch: decorating with cats
I have been loving Design*Sponge’s Sneak Peeks at designers’ and artists’ houses the past couple of weeks. The spaces are all so beautiful and inspiring. It may be my imagination, but it seems that everytime I click over, I see a cat on a bed, like the one above from Lost Bird Found, and K-Studio (which has a dog and a cat). The trend continued when I spotted this funny video at that Ikea contest we mentioned earlier in the week. You haven’t really enjoyed the pleasures of bed making till you’ve done it with frisky cat in the room!
Over at Nicole’s blog, Making It Lovely, she’s showing off her vibrant new Anthropologie chair with its relaxed companion. Holly at Decor8 also had cats on her site, after writing about Hope Harris‘ cat-centric photographs.
So, just for the hell of it, I did a search on Flickr for Cat on Bed and the results are hilarious. It’s a blog-in-the-waiting, I tell ya. Check it out!

Hah! That cat in the last picture looks just like mine. It is nearly impossible to make a bed if you’re in the room with him, because he is apparently a great believer in bed-making fun, and it’s not unusual to find a Nicholas-shaped lump under the blanket after you’ve finished laying it out… agreed, it’s definitely a lot of “fun.” Or even fun, sans quotation marks. It all depends on whether or not you feel that the cute/hilarious factor outweighs the “have to remake the bed” factor.
