blogwatch: bloggie winner tour

The 2007 Bloggie Awards were announced this week, and while most of them were given to sites that that we’re all very familiar with, a few were new discoveries … and sometimes it’s nice check in with old standbys.
Best Kept Secret Blog: Confessions of Pioneer Woman written by an ex-urbanite living now living on a cattle ranch with “the Marlboro Man” in the middle of nowhere. It’s funny, insightful, warm and occasionally, useful! We’re totally intriqued by her best lasagna ever recipe, image above, especially since it calls for Jimmy Dean sausage and Kraft Parmesan. The horror! It’s probably a knock-out! Looks good, doesn’t it?
Best Humor Blog, Best Entertainment Blog: Go Fug Yourself, one of our old bookmarks! But check out their post on Top Design — this is why we gave up writing about the episodes ourselves. We totally agree everything they are saying… right down to Kelly’s fab looks.
Best Food Blog: I Have a Fire in My Kitchen. Normally we need gorgeous photos to get us inspired to make a recipe, but this blog does a nice job of asking asks readers for submissions which we appreciate. This for Graham Cracker brownies sounds Yummy with capital Y.
Best Craft Blog:Make magazine has a great blog. Need proof, check out this post on how to make Mylanta mint ice cream. Yummy? We’re not sure about this one!
Weblog of the Year: Cute Overload. As if we need more proof that no one can resist kitties, puppies and bunnies. Check out the newest breed worth cooing over: The Toyger.

Thanks for the compliments on Help! I Have A Fire In My Kitchen – A Blog For The Cooking-Challenged And Recipe-Impaired
I do try to include pictures with all my personal recipes BUT the people who submit do not usually submit with photos.
In all cases most recipes are published with the name of the submitter (and if they want we can put their email as well.)
Your compliments are appreciated.
Teddy

It’s not a blog recipe, but frankly, the best lasagne recipe ever is featured in Nigel Slater’s new cookery book, “The Kitchen Diaries.”
