I saw a vaguely similar, nowhere-near-as-sexy chair in the window of the local Anthropologie tonight. It was covered in a mixture of batik fabric... no pattern, just the kind that looks like a color wash with some dark-colored crinkles in it. Different colors on different parts of the chair like the one above: pale pink, blue, and gold, at least. It was pretty cool-looking, and I was plotting how to do something similar on some future chair, perhaps in a fabric less associated with hippies.

They also have some incredibly cute kitchen towels right now. I'm torn between "$15-20 is a bit much to pay for a towel that's just going to get food stains all over it," and "You know, other towels I've seen like that cost at least $50." I particularly like the hot pink one with a jacquard weave of an Eiffel Tower scene.

haha - that gorgeous one-of-a-kind chair is in my Brooklyn living room right this minute! i won it last week in a raffle to benefit Housing Works at Metropolitan Home's Design 100 party at the Four Seasons, and couldn't be more delighted. Yes, it pays to be eclectic -- just in case one wins a multi-colored, modern/traditional wing chair in a raffle!
