methome dream chair gets a real life home

The other day we gushed a tiny bit about Metropolitan Home’s 100 Design issue and the fab Cradle Wing chair they created with custom upholstery. What we didn’t tell you is that they had a party where they raffled off that chair and other things to benfit one of our favorite charities, Housing Works). As luck would have it, a Shelterrific reader won the chair! Cara Greenburg, a contributing editor at Metropolitan Home, a field editor/writer/stylist for Better Homes and Gardens, and the author of several interior design books (the best known is Mid-Century Modern: Furniture of the 1950s) bought $20 worth of raffle tickets and scored the gorgeous $7,000 seat. She was kind enough to send in a photo of the chair in its new home in Brooklyn. As you can see, it’s quite comfy in real life — just ask her cat Leo — and proves that even high design is meant to be lived in. Congrats, Cara!

It looks great with the rest of her decor.
