blogwatch: ask the experts

The amount of free information being exchanged via blogs can be mind-boggling. Not only you do you have passionate, everyday people like us opening up and sharing our finds and discoveries, but also in the mix are some impressive experts — people who get paid to help their clients and customers offering advice for free online. Here are a few of our favorite PRO-sites that we turn to for advice. Which blogs do you go to when you want to professional help? (No, thanks Dr. Phil, we’ll handle that ourselves!)
Upholstery How do you know if that flea market find or grandma’s chair is worth saving? Turquoise, ApartmentTherapy’s LA blogger and an interior designer is opening the lines of communication and asking readers to send in photos of their furniture for advice. (The above diagram is from her.) She calls it Design 911 and she’s going to post a different reader’s project every Friday.
Gardening Domino’s Germinatrix, Ivette Soler, has been kind enough to leave helpful comments here when we have plant dilemmas, but if you have a more detailed gardening conundrum, log over to her blog here.
Decorating Green Designers Deana Bracken and Kathleen Rowan have just launched Green with Glamour, a new online boutique that features carefully selected merchandise for your home, closet and life. But they are also asking for and answering readers questions, so click over to this page to start talking with them.
Hardware & Tools We admit we’re a little lost when we go to Home Depot, but reading This Old House’s The Hardware Aisle blog helps us feel more handy than party of carpenters. The editors there review new products, things that are both quirky and practical. Our only wish is that we could send in questions. Hey guys, do you hear us? Add some contact info on that page.
Chocolate Chip Cookies Ok, this one is a little random. But as you know, we have some strong opinions about what is the best Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. Browsing around iVillage the other day, we found a slideshow of Mrs Fields All Time Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipes. Have you tried any of these? Let us know — maybe we need to host a reader bakeoff?
If all else fails, ask us! Can’t find a specific site to help you with your home decorating, gardening, cooking, cleaning, organizing or whatever question? We love hearing from you and will do our best to find answers for your! Click here to ask us a question.

I have this cook book from the 80’s. The chocolate cookie and the peanut butter cookie recipe was good. But I recently tried the sugar cookie recipe and it was terrible. God awful.
