help! i’m looking for sarah jessica’s bed!

Last year, when Elle Decor had a beautiful feature on Sarah Jessica Parker’s Bridgehampton house, and I knew immediately it was a “clip and save.” Now, I find myself in the market for a new bed frame, and I realized that this is what I want. Wishful thinking that it was from Ikea (like the room’s curtain panels) but alas, that doesn’t seem to be the case. I’ve shopped around to the usual places and haven’t been able to find one like it. I love its modern twist on a classic metal frame. The rounded corners mean it won’t take up too much space in our small bedroom. It’s pretty darn perfect. Can you help me find it? Let me know if you have any suggestions! Thanks! — Angela M.

I think it is from Ikea, just no longer made.

it IS ikea - i’m 100% positive. it is called “logga” or “logge” (like many of ikea’s metal things - i have the logge shoe rack) and is an older bedframe of theirs that they don’t seem to have any more. i’m pretty sure they had it as recently as 2005 or so, because that’s when i looked for a frame last and i believe i noticed it.
i searched flickr for “ikea bedframe” and came up with these photos of it:
the twin version: http://www.flickr.com/photos/7152264@N03/409366811/
the full/queen version: http://www.flickr.com/photos/vlauria/334392497/ (note the higher-looking metal head & end; sarah jessica parker’s added a boxspring to hers)

ikea also has a metal loft bed with a similar rounded style, can’t remember the name of that.

LLBean used to have that bed, I believe. I checked the website but it’s not there anymore.

Did you email Elle Decor??

Oh no, I fear it’s no longer being made. See IKEA’s current inventory:

Jennifer, you’re right, I should email the mag.
Maybe I could buy a used one?

Keep searching Craigs…it’ll turn up. Ikea stopped making my shelves and I keep buying them up on Craigslist.

Here’s a Queen size one on EBay (didn’t sell, I check completed auctions) and it’s in NYC.

Wow! That’s awesome! You are good… Now, am I ready to bite the bullet without seeing in person? I was sort of hoping for a full-size (small room) and I hear these Ikea beds can be shakey! This might be for our new “upstate” home… As long as our inspection goes well this weekend! (more on that later in the week!)

It most definitely is Ikea. I have that bed. Where do you live, I’m moving soon and not taking it with me! (I’m totally serious) I bet if you were to just go into an Ikea you would find it. Sometimes their catalogues/online store just don’t show everything. I just happened upon this one when the store didn’t have the one I wanted that I had seen online. That is the problem with Ikea.

PS: Just read the above comments more thoroughly and saw you wanted a full, that is the size mine is. Perfect for a small room, my room is seriously closet-size. I’m moving mid-July if you really are interested! I’m in NYC.

Lots of metal beds here, but alas I didn’t spot the exact one. The thrill is in the hunt though!

Hey Laurab — I’m in NYC too — UWS! I’m in no rush, as I think I want it for a house that I “think” we may be buying upstate! Timing sounds perfect! email me at angela@shelterrific.com and we maybe we have a happy deal!

How exciting! buying a house upstate.
By the way how was ten thousand waves?

Ten Thousand Waves is soooo amazing. Definately worth the splurge. We had an hour in a private tub + two thai massages. Can’t recommend it enough!

The current version of the metal bed at Ikea is tromso I think. I have the loft bed (twin size.) and I think there’s a non-loft version too.

Check out Amisco. They make modern metal beds that are afforable. You can even pick your metal color. Their website has been under construction for awhile, but you can probably do a search on the web and find a store near you that carries them.
