want it now: laura ashley chandelier

shelter_rosechandlier.jpg

The phrase “Laura Ashley” usually makes my skin crawl. I picture unflattering dresses with prints of tiny pastel flowers. Some of those still linger (like this one), but the brand also makes some classic home furnishings, albeit with a girly, romantic touch. I’m totally digging this Ruby 5 Lights Chandelier. It looks like something you’d stumble upon at a flea market, after cleaning it up and brightening with a bit of paint, of course. The price isn’t too bad, depending on the dollar’s strength the day you order (about $250). But we’d probably have to rewire to to work stateside. What do you think? Let me know if you’ve seen any cheaper versions about! — Angela M.

This one isn’t a whole lot cheaper, but crayon castles has a rose chandelier for $220. Here is the link:

You can get these on ebay for $40 - $80…the real/vintage ones. Rewiring will run you about $20-$40 depending on where you go.
