living with kids: mid century toy box

shelter_midtoybox.jpg

Here’s a problem all parents can relate to: What do you do with all the loud, brightly-colored toys that seem to gather in your living room throughout the day? Mod Mom furniture has a solution for us. In addition to adorable pieces for the kiddie’s own room, they also make this chic toy storage box, $320, that will go perfectly with the case study couch and Saarinen chair. It is made of baltic birch ply with slow-closing hinges and lid support to avoid little finger mishaps. Such a smart storage piece, even those without little ones may tempted. Wouldn’t it be a great place to stash extra bedding?

Nice. I think it would make a great kitty litter box, too. All it needs is a hole in the side.

Nice. It reminds me of a stereo cabinet. Remember those?

Although it’s not pictured here, I purchased one of her Lego Tables. I love it! It’s stylish and practical, and I am no longer stepping on little Lego pieces.

I love the simple design with safety hinge features. No more smashed fingers! No more plastic storage containers in my family room.
