Attention creative types! We’ve just learned about new online tool called Root2Art that lets designers and craftspeople design their own fabrics for small scale projects. You apply your own colors to a range of original contemporary patterns. Once you have create a fabric design all your own, you may order it any lengthof quality cotton, or have it stretched on canvas for a great wall hanging. Click here to see the library of patterns. Once you find one you like, you can edit the colors (though you may need to download a small SVG plug-in to use this tool). The project is brand new and its creators Lauren and Harvey are very open to feedback and suggestions. Budding Florence Broadhursts or Diane von Furstenberg’s, check it out! Oh my, this is such a fun tool to try. I’m afraid that I might become obsessed and spend hours trying to make that perfect fabric, however.
