Magazine pet peeve NUMBER ONE: Incomplete credits! Please don’t show me photos of cute things without telling me how much they cost or how I can purchase! Can you think of anything more frustrating? I was fully enjoying the June issue of Canadian House & Home when I spotted this grass watering can by Abbott. Squinting at the fine type on the credits page, I read the instructions to visit abbottcollection.com for retail stores. But a visit to that site quickly revealed that it is set up for wholesale buyers only, not individual consumers. Grrrrr. I’d love to pick up this perky watering can to jumpstart my soon-to-be house’s garden. Does anyone else know how to find one similar? Let me know! — Angela M.

I’m totally with you about listing the costs of items in a magazine – I understand that it’s not a catalog, but c’mon there is a big difference if something is $20 vs $200 and with shelter magazines you never really know what they consider “reasonable.”
