In the July/August Departures magazines (you know, the one that Tony Soprano was reading during his last visit to Dr. Malfi?) there’s a beautiful round up of cake plates. Cake plates have been reemerging in the tabletop scene for a few years now (indeed we did them at ole Budget Living in fall 2005) but this collection really takes them to a new level, ranging from sleek ones by Ralph Lauren Home to over the top antiques worth thousands. The prettiest is this one from Juliska.com, $ 435. It would make even your baking mess-ups a sight to behold. A great, though decadent wedding gift. — Angela M.
