I do try to avoid them, however, mostly because they are quite pricey. Last year I invested in one of those frozen-pop molds (like, um, for small children, which I am not) and while there is some effort involved you can really go to town using your imagination to satisfy whatever frozen craving you have -- creamy (yogurt based), fruity (juice or puree-based) or combo (fill the molds half-way, freeze; fill up the rest, and freeze some more). Yum! In this crazy heat, even a lemon juice pop dropped into a glass of diet pepsi is a refreshing treat. I also am a (guilty) worshipper of the Skinny Cow treats!
