notes from the nursery: phil & ted's me too chair

Casey and I joke that our number one extracurricular activity is dining out. As new parents we’re not about to adjourn this epicurean hobby; besides, why shouldn’t our budding foodie pull up a seat? We have Phil & Ted to thank for bringing their portable Me Too Chair ($70) to the table. Lightweight, collapsible, wipeable (what’s a mother not to love?), it securely attaches to a table’s edge with steel clamps. We especially like that it positions Mia close to us so she’s truly part of the meal—even when dining out means “in our backyard.” — Megan K.

Megan, I’m sure you know this but I wanted to leave a comment for other people thinking about buying one of these. We’ve got a Hippo seat (same basic design as this chair) and have had some trouble attaching it to thicker tables, edges where there’s a beam set back from the edge (if that makes sense) and it’s not permitted to attach this chair to a table with a center post support (e.g., one leg and not four). This kind of a chair is a great idea but keep in mind you can only use it on certain types of tables! I wish I’d known this before I purchased one.

Thanks, Laura. I should have mentioned that it fits tables up to 1 7/8″ thick.

What will they think of next? You have an adorable child. :)

We also have the chair and love it so much that we choose to use it instead of a typical highchair. This way, Grace eats right next to us at the “big kids” table.

Phil

Maybe some day I’ll get to sit at the “big kids” table, too…

We have one of those – they are fantastic! It works for tables up to a width of 5cm and you can easily take it with you – it folds down flat. As I’m from Germany we bought ours in Berlin at a shop called “rasselfisch”. They have other designy and practical baby things too – highly recommended if you happen to be in the area. :)

we bought this chair from babycenter.com last year for $40. it’s still available there for $49.95. it folds flat and we leave it in our stroller so we’re always prepared for dining out!

Can I also have the baby?
