I have white tub & toilet but pink/mauve-ish countertop. I used to accessorize with pink & cream & green but very sick of it after 15 years. I just painted the walls grey (Better Homes paint in "Old Driftwood") and got a mostly white shower curtain with a large modern light grey & black leaf print. I'm going to paint the doors & molding & windowsill white and go with light grey for the bath rug and towels. I may add just a little accent or 2 in pink somewhere with artwork on the walls or something to pull it together but I think the grey & white will help to tone down the horrible pink color.

I redid my mother's peachy pink with beige floor bath and did it with a beach theme using turquoise and brown and beige. Peach tile, beige walls and turquoise and white linens. Then used shells in glass container, shell wallhangings, turquoise glass vases, dark brown metal swans, along with irredescent glass items that pick up the colors in the room. It really toned down the peach and is very pleasant.

My house has been in the paper three times because of my use of pink. Like you, I have an original 1950's pink&cranberry combination tile on my vanity top and in my shower. I loved it! I decided to pull it all together by changing a few minor things. I used white hex tile with rasberry dots and pink grout on the floor. I put a cranberry and white striped swag shower curtain on. I put an antique window on the wall with cornices above that ,the shower and the door way. I placed vintage items on them. I had a victorian type border of different budoir scenes placed around the ceiling. I painted the vanity light pink and white. Since I wasn't LUCKY enough to have your pink toilet and sink(which I'm looking for). I put a light pink toilet seat on in the shape of a rose. I put a new light fixture up that has a bouquet of roses in the center. It was all grey before so I took a sponge and dabbed the roses pink. I am having a painting done for the antique window. Cranberry roses that drape over the frame inside will look like they are coming in from the outside. Appreciate what you've got. " A diamond in the rough". It could be so darling if you used your imagination. It didn't cost much at all. You can sell your toilet and sink and buy what you want. However, I would try to keep most of your bathroom original. They are so much more full of charachter than what you see today. I can honestly say that my bathrooms are my favorite rooms in the house. Plus, both of them have been in the paper. Have fun with it. I SURE DID! Ginny
