recycled wool blankets for cold oct nights

shelter_sweetfelt.jpg

This is the kind of thing I wish we had seen for sale at the Sheep & Wool festival the other day: recycled wool blankets from Sweet Felt Goods. I spotted them in last month’s via Cottage Living, but it just hasn’t been cold enough to think about bundling yet. But, I hear the temps are finally dropping this weekend (yeah!). These blankets are made from felting (shrinking in high water temps) wool, that is then blanketstitched into a quilt-like pattern. They’re all totally machine washable (cold water), then dry flat and tumble dry for a few minutes on warm to plump. You can even send in your own “memory” sweater to become a part of your new blanket. The prices are pretty reasonable: About $100 for a 40 X 40 baby blanket, or $250 for a 70 X 70 bed throw.
