I was poking around the Whirlpool site today (laundry room porn) when I was intrigued by this link to Design My Room. It’s a fantastic idea — you can choose Whirlpool appliances and design a room around them. But what really sucked me in was the Design My Room site in general. Dozens of virtual rooms (you can upload your own room photos, too) to decorate with currently sold furniture, window coverings, wall decor and paint from stores like Target, Design Within Reach, Benjamin Moore, Kohler, Whirlpool (of course), and the list goes on. Drag, drop, decide you don’t like a sofa, delete it, repaint a wall, and start again. Results may vary (as you can see from my work in progress, it’s hard to get that art to hang straight) but it’s a lot of fun. If only it was this easy in real life! - Mary T.
