She installed a small doggy door flap on the side. The Cabinet has doors on the front so she can just open them up and change the box. Another friend of mine, had trouble with her dogs getting into the cat box so she put the box in the hall closet and put up a little doggy door leading into it. It’s not as fancy as the Kattbank but my sister-in-law cut a hole in the side of her tv stand. She installed a small doggy door flap on the side. How can they be so cruel to those of us looking for exactly that product??? I am always so attracted to these funky pet furniture items but really, my pets love anything that is warm, soft and perhaps even slightly smelly, so I remind myself there are better ways to show them how much I love them. (Maybe they're just waiting for something more stylish?) Anyway, I'm also hoping to find a modern covered-litterbox alternative; the Kattbank is way out of my price range. I thought about DIY, but I'm not sure where to start.
