help! i’m looking for a modern fan
Help…clean lines and ceiling fans??! It’s possible if only I can find them….in the October issue 2006 of ELLE DECOR, Sarah Jessica Parker’s home the Hamptons was featured. I would love to know who makes the ceiling fans that were shown in two different bedrooms. I have been obsessed with finding them and appreciate any help you can offer! — Alison, Bridgewater, NJ

Hi Alison! Thanks for your email. Yes, we’ve been inspired (obsessed) by things in SJP’s house before. But lucky for you we know just where to find fans
Got any more modern fan finds for Allison? Let her know here!

Elle Decor used to have their articles archived and now they have that horrible pointclickhome site. Uggh.
However, I was able to find a pretty comprehensive group of pictures from that story with 2 pics showing the ceiling fans. I think the one you showed is much better, hers seem really basic to me.

Restoration Hardware has some nice fans. I especially like the Concept II.

Homeclick is also a great source for home items, including ceiling fans. http://www.homeclick.com/web/catalog/ethumbs.aspx?N=109+9228069&Ns=P_Inventory|1||P_ProductName

You can get surprisingly decent fans at places like Home Depot now, too. We purchased a version of this one in black — it looked great (it was for our old house) and got a lot of compliments. No fake woodgrain or swirly brass doo-dads!

Some of the ceiling fans at Home Depot are nice. I have two of the Hampton Bay 54″ brushed steel style and have been very happy with them. Mine is black, but they also come in different colors.

(if this link is too long, just go to Home Depot’s site and search on Hampton Bay ceiling fan - you’ll find it!)
The fan is not too expensive and it comes with a remote that controls the light and the fan.
