blogwatch: where we’ve been clicking this week

Apartment Therapy unveiled a new design this week, with a big clean center blog column and easy navigation between the Therapies. It’s more catchy than ever. One post that caught our eyes: Can you use Tang to clean your toilet? Of course, we don’t exactly keep Tang stocked in the house, so why buy drink mix when you can get a proper cleaner?
The other big AT development is that they’ve separated their other sites (nursery, kitchen, tech, green) into sites and new brands of their own. The Nursery is now called Oh-Dee-Doh (aren’t you curious for an explanation on that name?). That’s where we found the photo above, of a modern nativity set by Alessi. It puts a whole new twist on that dingy manger, doesn’t it?
Other great finds of the week:
Punk window shades from Craft Mag, that we spotted on Casa Sugar, along with these chic Swedish greeting cards.
More fun stuff for you crafty types: Get a free softie pig pattern at Wee Wonderfuls. Get sewing!

toilet tang? sounds like an un-tapped market for doggie beverages

I’m dying to know where oh-dee-doh came from. It’s making me recall an extremely politically incorrect riddle from my junior high school days, and I certainly hope it’s not related to that!

That nativity scene is hilarious! Which may be wrong, but to me is oh-so-right.

“Oh-dee-doh” — I know its origin! I read it in an article in “Cookie” magazine yesterday. It’s apparently the first thing the young daughter of the apartment therapy co-founders ever said that remotely resembled an actual word.
