our ebay find: midcentury mod rocker

You may remember a couple of months ago, I was craving an Eames rocking chair. Some of your comments suggested it was not the most comfortable thing in the world, and after trying one out in a store, I’d have to agree. But still, our small one-bedroom just doesn’t have the space for a plushed-out glider. So we started hunting around and found some lovely mid-Century versions on eBay. Daddy Types turned us on to the Danish Spindleback Rocker by Frank Reenskaug, which has gorgeous lines. We were almost sold on one of those, when we spotted the little number above and fell in love. It arrived last week and is just the right size — not just for our apt, but also my 5′2″ frame. Someday we’ll get it re-covered (I see a mod Hable Construction textile), but for now it will do just fine. If you’d like to find something similar, do an eBay search for Modern Rocking Chair. It may take some time, but they do turn up! — Angela M.
