what’s the best ready-made cookie dough?

Now that the holidays are over you probably feel like taking a break from baking. We do! That’s why we were excited to see this round up of the pre-made cookie doughs over at babble.com a while back. Their favorites are the 600Lb Gorilla cookies, made with all natural ingredients. You can stash them in your freezer and heat them up in a toaster oven. In New York State they’re available at Wegman’s and ProFoods - neither of which are near enough to us. They also rave about Wholly Wholesome cookies, which sound equally yummy. They’re available at Whole Foods and other health food shops, so we may be in luck there. Finally, good ol’ Toll House cookie dough rates, and those are always available when we need them. (We’re currently addicted to their Peanut Butter Lovers’ Ultimate cookies.)
What about you? Do you have a pre-made dough that you keep stocked in the fridge? Or does the thought of the stuff offend your baking sensibilities? Let us know!
(P.S. We’ll be back with a real life test kitchen next week!)

I’m a sucker for the Betty Crocker chocolate chunk. Just add an egg and a little bit of oil and wha-la, instant cookies.

You sure won’t catch me eating that hydrogenated betty crocker poison or pilsbury poison. I’ll take the all natural cookies any day. Butter or regular oil is the only way to bake. I must agree that 600lb gorilla ready made cookie dough is the best out there, next to cookies made from scratch.
