help! i’m looking for a cool bulletin board
Hi! I’m on the hunt for something really cool to use as a bulletin board/inspiration wall. Not a DIY project, just a great medium sized board for a modern office space. Any ideas? — Helen

Hi Helen. Thanks for your question. Last year we wrote about these groovy, ready-made boards from Tak (scroll down the page to see how to order). They’re about $45 each and are made from a lightweight, tackable material. Of course, making your own, fabric-covered board is really not that hard to do and then you can really get creative! But maybe some readers have suggestions for cool boards for the modern office. Please let us know if you do!

I picked up a simple metal board at IKEA that I use with magnets — the magnets add the cool. I also know a photographer who has large sheets of metal that he gets from hardware stores, and uses those with magnets. Not a DIY, just a piece of metal that he buys and hangs up. Very industrial chic!

I’m planning on using a wall in my kitchen adjacent to the home office for a bulletin board. I will use magnetic paint, several coats, then cover it with the same color paint I used in the kitchen. It will keep the fridge free of drawings! ( I’m on a mission this year to battle visual clutter )
