Energy-saving lighting is a popular topic, and now New York Architecture firm I-Beam Design have taken things a step further with the Chemical Light. Says the company, “The Chemical Light proposes a long lasting, environmentally sustainable light source; eliminating the need for unsightly wiring, electricity and the polluting byproducts that accompany conventional electricity production.” Options for commercial and home use include sconces and chandeliers, with more to follow. We’re not sure if we’re loving the actual designs just yet — that’s a rendering on the right — but we’ll keep an eye on this one.
