I'm not a big fan of digital clocks either. I have a plain cheap IKEA clock in the kitchen, a George Nelson ball clock in the living room (Christmas present from my very sweet husband who heard me say that I had always wanted one), and my bedside clock is a Big Ben repro of their midcentury "Moonbeam" clock. You can get them from LL Bean. I particularly like it because it flashes a light before the bell alarm goes off. It's much more gentle and pleasant to wake to a flashing light, but if it doesn't wake you, then the bell goes off. The only problem is that the dial is lighted, and it's so bright it keeps me up at night, so I keep a denim napkin on top. Yes, I know, weird, but I like the flashing light, and I still wake even with the napkin on top.

yeah, I don't know what it is about digital clocks, but I've never liked them. From the clocks on my walls to the watches I wear, I always go analog. Speaking of wood clocks, I just saw this neat one yesterday (on sale!)

I've wanted a nelson clock forever, but hate to drop $300 on one...
