help! where can i find sjp’s apple art?
Update: FOUND! Reader apl and our own Erica P. identified the apple as La Mela, a print by Italian designer Enzo Mari. It’s available for $300 here!
Payton from Macon, GA writes, “I have spent countless hours on the computer trying to find out where to get the painting of an apple that Sarah Jessica Parker has in her kitchen in her Bridgehampton home. This was featured in Elle Decor’s October 2006 issue and I cannot find the answer anywhere.” We’re also fans of SJP’s home, which is featured in the recent Elle Decor book So Chic: Glamorous Lives, Stylish Spaces — her former home, we should say, as she actually sold the house in 2005. Unfortunately, we don’t know the origin of that apple. Readers, can you help track it down, or suggest similar art that Payton might like?

I think that it an Enzo Mari poster, La Mela. You see the pear version more often.

It looks like a vintage marimekko print to me, though obviously it’s not… Honestly this would be such an easy DIY, and could be made to the perfect size for Payton’s space. I usually buy large gallery-wrapped canvases at Utrecht’s, but any good art supply store has loads of options. Using a 1.5-inch-deep canvas (nicely gallery wrapped) makes it look professional. Pick up a couple tubes of acrylic paints and go to work!

There is a store in the West Village in New York City called Kid O that carries that print (or at least a similar one). I’ve walked by the store countless times and admired it’s simplicity. They have an online store where you can purchase it, though it’s not particularly cheap!

i bought la mela 6 or 7 years ago online from moss and it’s still available (i think it was only $150 then, now it’s $285– just fyi, it’s the framing that costs so much because it’s so large):
