post off: what decorating trend have you loved for, like, ever?

When it comes to simple, clever, and of-the-moment, I still love the For Like Ever poster, even though it’s gotten so popular a lot of people consider it “over” (just read the comments). It’s still available at Village, and guess what? I’m going to buy one. The heck with popular opinion! So how about you? Is there a decorating trend or style you just can’t get enough of, even though other people may be shouting, “Enough”? –Mary T.

P.S. Remember, we want to hear about the trends you still love. For trends you hate, post here.

ok: i still am in to the whole suzani pattern for bed spreads and upholstering. for some reason, those colors and shapes please me to no end. i also still find the “keep calm” poster lovely, i don’t own one but it is still on my list. and i know owls are everywhere but i have always loved them and will continue to love them despite their trendiness.

I’m hoping ikat stays around for a while; ditto carrara marble.

I’m still into the deer heads, but not real ones. That is only because they fit into the environment I’m in now; woodsy, open, actual deer running around the house. I’m liking the owls for the same reason. It’s a trend now, which is great, because I can get the items when they are easy to find, but I’ll hold on to them and make them part of my permanent style.

    Toile!

Also, stuff that looks old and lived in, which I’ve liked since before it was popular. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it… except the obviously fake-old stuff, which is already old… and not in a good way.

I love all the fresh greens that are out this spring. I also still like the “Keep Calm and Carry On” poster, although I like it ’cause I need the reminder every so often.

Zebra. I don’t actually have any in my house, and I can see it is oft-overused. But I still love it. And overwrought Italianate gilt frames, which is more of an old-lady thing to love than trendy, but… I love them.

Trellis patterns - they have that old preppy classic staying power, yet they continue to be updated by stylemasters like Kelly Wearstler and Jonathan Adler.

Goofy ceramic animals. At the moment I have an elephant and a big-ass ram in rotation.

I am in the process of trying to purchase it.
In our kitchen a very large “Eat Good Food” prevails.
