spring (scent) is in the air

The spring breeze is wafting through my windows and the open terrace door. But sometimes city scents aren’t so fresh — I’m inhaling paint fumes as I type. That’s why I keep a stash of fabulous candles and diffusers on hand. I love the charming, colorful packaging of Seda France candles (perfect hostess gifts) and they’ve just launched new Bon Chic candles in 100% soy wax.

The company’s French Tulip diffuser sits on a window shelf next to my bed, filling the room with the fresh scent of a flower shop in springtime. Six new limited-edition diffusers were recently added to Seda France’s aromatic offerings. Click for many more spring scent finds from Ingrid S.

I recently discovered Diptyque’s new limited-edition boxed set of three candles (mimosa, tuberose and choisya). The light, flowery fragrances by the luxe French candlemaker are as intoxicating as always — mimosa captures the clean blooming air on a Provencal coast.

Another favorite, DayNa Decker, stars with ultra-chic, eco-friendly candles that crackle seductively while burning. The refined scents, infused with botanical oils, are alluringly pure. New hand-blown diffusers in her signature minimalist style are beautiful enough to reuse as vases.

If you love more earthy, masculine scents, Alora Ambiance has partnered with home textile designer John Robshaw to create a new Vetiver diffuser and soy candle. The smoky fragrance was inspired by floor mats inter-woven with vetiver roots at an Indonesian bazaar. Suddenly I’m on Orbitz.com booking a trip to Ibiza — this candle has sparked my spring wanderlust! –Ingrid S.

hi, I love Dipytique candles, too, but after living in France for 4 years I’m addicted to Cote Bastide candles. they are really made in France and their scents are just plain addicting. I buy them at a store here in Seattle but they don’t sell online. Once a month I buy online at Vintageweve Interiors http://www.vintageweave.com because they have the best selection of Cote Bastide candles and their prices on these are often a wee bit better. (Plus then I sneak in an extra one or two of their french finds with my order and my husband doesn’t bark at me.:) ) big fan of your site-great product resources. Thanks-Meg

I’m a little late to the party, but I just HAD to add that after trying nearly every candle on the market, I just don’t think you can beat Jimmy’s Soy Candles…
