We bought our deck table specifically for the lazy susan built into the middle and have not regretted it.

we have always had a bright turquoise blue (handpainted by my mom) lazy susan on our table and we love it! It is old, old-fashioned, and perfect! I bought another huge one at an estate sale for $8 that we use under the scrabble board at our vacation home.

I always valued the practicality of the lazy susan. My mom had several, all made of solid oak by a wood maker when I was young. But it is true that some models lack style and contribute to its bad reputation. This one is really charming.
