new obsession: dilettante ephemere chocolate sauce

I know Dilettante Chocolates has been big in Seattle for 30 years, but it took a trip out of town for me to actually try their Semisweet Ephemere chocolate sauce. How can I explain this stuff? First, put all notions of grocery store-bought “chocolate sauce” aside; this is nothing like that. Imagine a cross between deep chocolate icing from scratch and the most delicious brownie batter you’ve ever tasted, only with the consistency of hot fudge. Got it? It’s amazing on ice cream and it makes an excellent mocha, too. I’m actually afraid to have this stuff in the house as there is a rather scary temptation to eat it straight with a spoon. Shop for it here. –Mary T.

When I had an espresso cart, I used Ephemere for my mochas…Dilletante burnt cream for my caramel lattes. As far as coffee goes, I wouldn’t use anything else. They truly elevate the flavor rather than competing with it.
