The Furminator is definitely worth the money. The amount of fluff that comes off my Maine Coon cat is ridiculous. She doesn’t like the Furminator very much, and will only tolerate it for short periods when she’s in a good mood. But as long as we keep at it, her shedding is greatly reduced and she doesn’t get hairballs.

Hey j, you could do what I do: just let the fur fly! (That’s when it helps to have a yard.) Is dog and cat fur compostable? I know hair takes a long time to break down.

I think the Furminator would be great for my 3 cats, 1 dog fur filled house. However, not very green: one suggestion on a blog that was encouraging “1 garbage can per month” (can’t remember the site!) was eliminating the tape fur removers and using a fabric lint removed. Not sure if those work as well, but I’m getting ultra-hyper sensitive about creating more trash these days!
