best lunch secret: befriend someone at google

I just got back from my first dining experience at the Chelsea office Google cafeteria. The employees (and guests!) eat free cafeteria. The New York Magazine covered, highly talked about, totally outrageous cafeteria. Do you get the feeling I was more than a little excited at the invitation!

Well the hype is well deserved. This was the most impressive office building cafeteria I have ever had the pleasure of dining in. There is even an employee with a flickr page dedicated to his daily eats. With more enticing lunch options than I knew what to do with, I sat down to a great lunch with a great friend. What did I have? A Roasted Duck BLT. Here’s my take on the recipe:

Roasted Duck BLT
Serves 1

- 1 sesame seed sandwich roll, halved
- 4 oz. shredded roasted duck breast
- 2 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
- 2 slices beefsteak tomato
- 1 large pieces green leaf lettuce
- 1/2 Tbsp. mayonnaise

Lightly toast the sesame roll. Layer the duck meat onto the bottom half of the roll along with the crumbled bacon, tomato slices and lettuce. Spread the top half of the roll with the mayonnaise, then place on top to close the sandwich.

Bon Appetit!
