FUNctional art at risd|works

Talking about going back to school reminded me of a great idea put in place by the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). Located across the river from campus in Providence, RI, risd|works is a a store that sells art and design items made exclusively by Rhode Island School of Design alumni and faculty. All profits from sales of items go directly back into the school to help the university’s scholarship fund. From books to furniture, the items are often as whimiscal as they are funtional. I just loved David Dear’s Duck Mirror pictured above. — Erica P.

The duck mirror is awesome. You can find it at High Fashion Home for a little cheaper.
