savory recipes make the transition to fall

Before we know it, we’ll be wrapped in sweaters and craving hot-from-the-oven roasts and stews. In the meantime, here are some recipes from my favorite food sites that bridge the seasons.
Pick up some late summer veggies and cook up this quick Tomato & Zucchini Gratin. Matt from MattBites pulled together this simple dish as a break from the raw tomatoes he’s been enjoying all summer.
Crisp rosemary flatbread would be great with a fresh summer salsa before dinner, but even better dipped into a simple autumn squash soup. Deb of Smitten Kitchen suggest trying a variety of herbs in this quick-fix cracker.
The zesty bite of this Lemony Chickpea Stir-fry will brighten even the dreariest of overcast days. Kale and squash are easily found into fall, but swapping the summer veggies for a late-season variety will allow this dish to shine all year long. 101 Cookbooks creator Heidi Swanson used ghee as a cooking medium, but mentions olive oil would work just as well. –Erica P.
