affordable elevated pet feeders — custom made!
Big or small, a lot of animals need dishes that stand a little higher off the ground — it’s better for digestion and can help prevent health issues in larger dogs, too. Thing is, get more than one dog in your household, and you discover that the cost of elevated feeders can add up. Etsy to the rescue! I was delighted to find that not only are there many designers online selling custom elevated dog dishes (you can choose the height and the colors of most), they’re actually a whole lot more affordable than the big-box pet store variety. Three of my favorites so far are above: an antique green feeder from Merlin’s Bark Products, $45, a handcut steel retro pet feeder (this one is my current frontrunner) from Bacon Square Farm, $35, and a three-bowl feeder by Grace Daniel Designs that’s available in 50 finishes, $56. –Mary T.
