lovin’ lutz & patmos at west elm

We love it when mass stores bring our favorite niche designers to a big audience. West Elm just unveiled a collection of knitted pillows and throws from Lutz & Patmos, a design duo that makes gorgeous, crave-inducing knit fashions. If we could, we’d splurge on some of their thick cable knit scarves and hats, but their home accessories at West Elm are much more affordable. This pillow cover, $39, is already on our holiday wish lists. Doesn’t it look snuggle-ly?

And that’s an astonishing price, too. Knitting isn’t that hard to do, once you master some basic stitches. Just takes time.
But nice yarn is always expensive, so that really does seem like a good price to me.
I thought that nothing would ever be able to tempt me to knit again, but these pillow covers have me thinking otherwise!

They’re lovely, but any knit pillow or throw would end up re-woven with kitty fur at my house.
Do others consider shaving their cats to reduce the fur accumulation on decor?

I just sweep and vacuum an awful lot. And groom the cat regularly. It helps, but, true, nothing can eliminate the fur. Except maybe shaving her… hmmm. Now you’ve got me giving her the hairy eyeball.

These look so cosy. I realise that knitting isn’t so difficult, but there is no chance of me doing it myself – these look like a much better option!

I wonder if I have a sweater that I don’t wear anymore that might like a new life as a pillow…? : )
