another great home magazine folds

Yesterday, we heard that one of our favorite magazines, Cottage Living, is closing down. This follows closely on the heels of O at Home shutting down the other week. As much as we all love writing about home decor online, nothing quite makes us happier than flipping through a stack of Shelter magazines on a Sunday afternoon. We got a lot of great inspiration from CL and will miss it greatly!

This makes me really sad. Cottage Living and Coastal living are the two mags I have a subscription for. I am keeping my fingers crossed for Coastal Living.

Gah! I used to get, like, 20 shelter subscriptions a month. All my favorites keep dropping like flies. ::pout::

I’m worried that in a year, there wont be any more!

I just read about this on another blog. This is just so sad. I agree, while I love reading design blogs there’s really nothing like sitting down with a cup of tea and a bunch of really cool shelter mags.

This was one of my favorites, I’m so sad to hear this news.

Oh, now I feel so guilty about letting my subscription lapse. Each issue was thinner than the last, so I should have known it was withering toward being shuttered.
I did still buy an issue on the newstand every once in a while, though. That was a wonderful little magazine.

Maaan. Now what am I going to buy at the airport? I don’t want to wait any more for any stupid old planes without my mainstay.

This is one of my favorite magazines!!! I am sorry to see them close.

I, too, cancelled my subscription! I know they don’t credit you the balance so at least I didn’t lose money but I just added it to my Christmas list!

OMG! I must be a curse. This happens everytime I subscribe to a magazine lately. Budget Living, Blueprint all went under less than a year after I finally subscribed. This pisses me off. And you would think that this magazine could keep its head above water especially in the current climate. It’s all about small scale living, appreciating the little things, and NO to excessive spending. What is going on!?!?
And I was just wondering what happened to my next month’s issue. I haven’t received it yet.

What’s sad is that they just sold me a subscription one week ago… nice.
