revisit: magnificent mini pies
We mentioned these miniature pies baked in a jar that we spotted over at Not Martha awhile back, and I have been obsessed with them ever since. I’ve been waiting for the perfect event to bake some up and give them away. I think now that the holidays are just around the corner, it’s the perfect time. Megan from Not Martha does a great job of posting a comprehensive tiny jar pie tutorial with plenty of pictures. I wonder if I could adjust my mother’s chocolate chip pecan pie recipe for the project? Has anyone here made the mini jar pies? –Erica P.

I discovered pies in jars via Not Martha, and we love them for tossing into lunch bags (I usually switch the order and bake first, then freeze). Haven’t tried pecan pie, but do fruit crisps sometimes to avoid rolling out pie crust, and my regular recipe worked just fine.
