a few things we learned last week

1. Some of you have already finished your holiday shopping! Tiffany S. writes: “I have to tell my friends and family that I’m not trying to be smug by sending my gifts out before Thanksgiving – it’s just that I really can’t bear the lines that start everywhere the day after Thanksgiving. Most gifts were purchased by October. Last night I ran to Pier One and found some great ‘last-minute’ (meaning pre-Thanksgiving) holiday gifts so I guess…I’m all…done. I’m a little sad about it but at least I won’t be standing in line.” Tell us how you handle the holiday shopping scene here.
2. You can get creative with leftovers. Jen has some with extra pumpkin. She makes … “Brownies! I mix some with confectioners sugar and creem cheese and swirl on top of brownies.” Yum. Get more ideas here.
3. We’re not the only fans of mini-pies. Laura writes: “I love them for tossing into lunch bags (I usually switch the order and bake first, then freeze). Haven’t tried pecan pie, but do fruit crisps sometimes to avoid rolling out pie crust, and my regular recipe worked just fine.” Read more about these amazing mini pies.
