To keep the pizzelle from sticking to the iron, brush vegetable oil or melted crisco shortening onto the griddles before heating the iron. You may have to discard the first one or two pizzelle.

so pretty! we used to use the anise flavored ones as flying discs when i was little though. we’d freak out if they “infected” the delicious plain ones.
